So far, over 300 people have participated in these Saturday volunteer activities!
WHY
Campaigns -- especially presidential campaigns -- come and go. Presidential cycles spur a large infusion of new people into existing grassroots networks. The 2020 cycle was no different. We built a robust statewide network and welcomed lots of new people who stepped up as volunteers and leaders. In 2022, we will have a campaign to take back the Governor’s office here in Massachusetts and critical midterm elections throughout the country to ensure we retain control of Congress. In between there will be local issue organizing and undoubtedly some special elections too. We can begin preparing now for 2022 and continue to play a critical role “punching above our weight class” outside Massachusetts for the midterms -- as long as we keep folks engaged and continue organizing and building our networks. And together we will win!
WHAT
We’re asking you to make a commitment to build routine organizing into your schedule. Join us for two hours every week, every other week or monthly -- whatever works for you.
At the Hub, we will have several rotating programming options available and we welcome participants bringing their own organizing projects. Examples of activities: targeted outreach to voters/volunteers, team building, phone banks for issue campaigns, building for events, training sessions as needed, and much more. The menu will be broad and flexible to accommodate a full range of organizers from different parts of the state who have different needs and priorities. We also have had breakout rooms that don't include making phone calls including one that was a presentation about talking points/social media modules targeted towards electing a Democratic governor in 2022.
