From the Governor’s Office

Here are some of the accomplishments of the Healey-Driscoll administration this July:

  • As part of her continued focus on lowering costs for residents, on July 21 Governor Healey announced that the Division of Insurance has negotiated down proposed rate increases from six health insurers, saving Massachusetts residents and businesses a projected $4.5 million in health care premiums for 2026.

  • On July 17, Governor Healey signed an executive order establishing an Anti-Hunger Task Force that will work to prevent Massachusetts families from going hungry as President Trump cuts food assistance for children, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities.

  • On July 10, data released by the state's Department of Higher Ed showed that MassReconnect, Governor Healey’s cost-free community college program for students ages 25 and older, continued drawing adult learners to Massachusetts’ community colleges in its second year. According to the new data, community college enrollment of new students ages 25+ without a prior college degree grew by 39.6 percent between the fall 2023 and 2024 semesters.
